Brothers in Blood by David Stuart Davies to be published by Sparkling Books

The first novel in the DCI PAUL SNOW series, Brothers in Blood by David Stuart Davies, will be published by Sparkling Books in late 2012/early 2013.

Notwithstanding his homosexuality, Detective Chief Inspector Paul Snow – a loner with a razor-sharp mind – has managed to reach the heights in his profession without coming out. But his status is threatened when a murder case in the local gay community lands on his desk, and a Detective Sergeant finds proof of DCI Snow's past liaison with one of the victims, and the blackmailing starts.

Brothers in Blood is set in 1980s Yorkshire.

 

DAVID STUART DAVIES is the author of five novels featuring private detective hero, Johnny Hawke, and another five novels featuring Sherlock Holmes as well as several non-fiction books about the Baker Street detective including the movie volume Starring Sherlock Holmes.

As well as being a committee member of the Crime Writers’ Association, and editing their monthly magazine, Red Herrings, David is the general contributing editor for Wordsworth Editions Mystery & Supernatural series and a major contributor of introductions to the Collectors’ Library classic editions.

Many of his short stories have appeared in various anthologies including Crime in the City, Murder Through the Ages, The Mammoth Book of Comic Crime, and Dickensian Whodunits. David is also a playwright and has two successful one-man plays to his name: Sherlock Holmes: The Last Act and Sherlock Holmes: The Life & Death which are currently touring the UK and have been recorded on audio CD.

 

Granny Yaga by Vitali Vitaliev to be published by Sparkling Books

Sparkling Books has acquired Vitali Vitaliev's new teenage fiction series featuring Granny Yaga. Vitali is an award-winning international journalist, broadcaster and author of twelve books.

The first book in the Granny Yaga series will be Vitali’s second work of fiction. The Third Trinity – an international thriller published by Hodder & Stoughton – was a bestseller in the UK with eight editions in Germany and film rights optioned. Vitali’s previous publishers also include: Random House, Macmillan, Simon & Schuster and Hutchinson. His books have been translated into German, French, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Estonian and other languages.

 

Peregrine Harker by Luke Hollands to be published by Sparkling Books

Sparkling Books will publish this début Young Adult novel by Luke Hollands in 2013.

LUKE HOLLANDS is a journalist and researcher working in radio and TV. He has co-presented documentaries and worked on historical dramas for BBC Radio 4 and developed comedy scripts for BBC television.
